A Cappuccino with some Mods

I made myself the new Cappuccino tunic
With a few mods,
To allow for my 19 week bump.
I added a inch or so to the middle panel and  some length and shape.
A simple adjustment.
To make a beautiful, wearable top.
I used a luscious wool/modal knit with a m a z i n g drape.
The size 10 with 1 1/2 '' FBA was perfect with the knit.
If I used a woven I would size up to a 12.
And I think I have some growth room.

Full sewing tute in the works!

  8. Congratulations! Good thing you're far enough along that you can't be accused of procreating just to take advantage of the new Layette patterns! Now, that would be dedication :)

I was pretty excited when it was released though, I may have cried.... I blame hormones.

  10. Yay! I'm excited to see a new addition. This top looks wonderful on you - and provides room to grow. I especially like the gathering in the middle front which makes those cool pleats down the front.

  14. Ah. You are simply beautiful. And this tunic makes a PERFECT maternity top! Stylish, comfortable, flowing - I am so picky about clothes when I'm pregnant, and this is exactly the sort of thing I love. Well done. And congratulations, my dear! I am so happy for you and your beautiful family!

  15. Thank you Inder. We are just so happy. Hugo is crossing EVERYTHING for a boy.
I think it makes a great maternity top and hopefully one of those good ones that you can wear after whilst still a bit lumpy and bumpy.

  18. Wow congratulations! I'm very happy for you (although I personally find the idea of six kids alarming! :) ). It looks like a great top and the drape in wool is perfect.

    1. Thank you Shelley, obviously I have pretty cruisey children or I would not be going back for more.
The wool fabric is just right for this top, I hope I can find some more!

  22. So excited for you! (And selfishly, I'm excited to see the wee clothes you're gong to be sewing, hehe.) The top is very flattering. How great to be able to sew your own bump-accommodating clothes.
