First, Penola SA were we stopped and ate lunch in the Mary MacKilop memorial park.
The garden is decorated with clever steel silhouettes of last century children.
The garden was a beautiful reflective place to sit and eat.
Next, we passed through Casterton.
All the Victorian towns are so pretty and green.
After that, Wannon Falls
Located in the beautiful Grampians, they start with a small river.
That has been contained by a small dam
The next section was a bit faster flowing.
And ended in this!
Beautiful.
The sound was deafening, so incredible to us 'sand farmers'.
No less magical looking back after our short hike through the bush.
Where to next?
The Nigretta Falls.
But this time, we could go down....
And down.
Breathtaking.
And the view from the look out above.
See the Black Angas cattle in the distance?
Imagine checking stock with that view.
You would take a packed lunch.
The driver says its time to move.
On to Hamilton
See you tomorrow!
Happy holiday! Looks fab - as do you :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Justine. It was so beautiful, quite a steep walk down and a little tricky to get back up, but worth it.

What a beautiful place! A is looking over my shoulder and wondering what Liddy's and Tilly's doll's names are. And she wants to know if those are their favorite dolls. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteVery special dolls, Liddy's is named Amanda and Tilly's is Elizabeth. The doll carriers work perfectly.

Thanks. I will be sure to tell her in the morning. :)

Happy holidays! Love the girls with their dolls in carriers :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane, we are having a blast!
DeleteThe Twins 'did' Lorne today, they thought they were it and a bit!

Yes, the doll carriers are the sweetest!!! And you are looking great, mama!! The sights look lovely too. I seem to remember from college that Australia doesn't have many big rivers? Those waterfalls look pretty substantial to this California girl!
ReplyDeleteThe doll carriers are a marvel as both girls love their dollies.
ReplyDeleteInder, we South Australians get excited about a creek bed, let alone a water fall!

ps Thank you! I feel really well
Thank you for all the wonderful pictures - especially the Mary McK display in Penola. Never been there. So pleased your OP shop raiding was so successful - love the china, and the real clothing bargains. Enjoy the rest of the holidays. Love the pic of the baby beanie - lol. Fee.
ReplyDeleteThank you Fee.
ReplyDeletePenola is a pretty (cold) town with a lot of history. One of my sisters lived there and her children attended the local Catholic school during Sr Mary's beatification process. A fascinating and strong woman.
We do enjoy our Op-Shopping, its a great way to encourage recycling and lets the children enjoy shopping on a budget.
The beanie was just too cute, I must learn to knit!

I had never heard of that St Mary, it was interesting to read about her...
ReplyDeleteIncredible woman Rachel, she would be a great project choice for one of your children.

Gorgeous photos! I like that one of Liddy sitting on the wall opposite the figure.
ReplyDeleteWe don't look that well dressed when we go on a long walk (especially Hugo!)
Thank you Katy, Hugo does like his clothes
ReplyDeleteIt was such a lovely holiday, thank you for commenting and allow me to relive the photos.
