A Little Liberty Break

I am starting to think sewing for The Twins, back to back, is not such a good idea.
Whilst sewing Zara's jeans we bumped heads.
It was not that big a deal but I had had enough. I try very hard to sew groovy clothes for all of my children. I deliver what I promise to the best of my ability.
To the best of my ability with what I am given to work with. Sometimes what my girls envisage is not quite what I think they are after.

We have since sorted it all out but I was seriously peed off with my daughter so I left her turn of the rota and jumped to Hugo.

A perfect palate cleanser in the form of Liberty lawn and the Aime Comme Marie Mister shirt.

Hugo sits his UMAT this year and asked me to make him the above outfit, to wear to his interview. 

The shirt took me an easy five hours to sew, over two nights.

I adore the sleeve plackets, such an elegant detail.

I used reversed MoP for the buttons but I wish I had used ecru rather then white thread for the button holes.

The back has a lovely shape, slim but not fitted.

The back yoke is in two pieces, it gives some wearing ease and certainly sits smoothly.

And speaking of smooth...

How smooth is this?

~Hugo's Verdict~
I already have several lovely shirts that I have a hard choice in selecting to wear.
 My favourite though has always been my aqua Liberty shirt but alas it was beautifully sewn for me too many years ago so it has begun to grow threadbare. So I was really excited when my turn came earlier than expected and I could have a new Liberty shirt made. I was even more surprised to find my new shirt completed two days later when I returned from work. 
The shirt itself fits slimly but still leaves room for me to grow which I expect to with a year of labour. Although the fabric is more floral than I would have chosen when younger, I think it suits my (what I think) is an unique wardrobe. I can't wait to show off this shirt tomorrow at my cousin's christenings and I will be very keen for my turn to come again to have my other garments made to wear when I take the UMAT.
