Not only can she walk, she can DANCE in them! I love heels too, sometimes being short can be an advantage. All the girls were high heels to parties now but most of them shed them and go barefoot once they have made their 'entrance'. xx N
Oh those shoes! Gorgeous shoot for a gorgeous girl, I can't pick my favorite. And I've said it a bunch already, but you really hit it out of the park with this dress. Looking forward to the (eventual;) tute!
Thank you Brittney. The photo shoot really cheered her up,as has two little baby guinea pigs named Pixie and Hush. So she is not too grown up yet. I will do the tute,I am having a wee break down realising I have 4 days to make 3 dresses! xx N
I got up at 6 am and I have drafted and cut a Wren dress for Lids and unpacked the car and done 3 loads of washing! So far so good.... Keep your fingers crossed for me? xxx N
So pretty. I love how you can show classic Oliver + S designs as something suitable for older girls. I love the splash of colour and the hair accessory too
I think that is the beauty of o+s patterns. The fabric may be quite sophisticated as is the colour palette but the dress is such a sweet classic look it is still perfectly suitable for a 13 year old young lady. Thank you Rachel xx N
Thank you Catherine, that shot reminds me of walking back to our swags after dancing the night away at someones 18th,in a marquee,on their parents property. xx N
Wow, the dress is beautiful, and so is she! The glasses and shoes are the perfect accessories, and you know, that may be the first 'exposed zipper' I've ever really liked. Merry Christmas to you and your family :)
Thank you Jane. I have no idea if it is a 'proper' exposed zip but she was happy! Zara first suggested a metal teethed zipper but that looked very clunky to me. Just recently I was giving several bags of 'girl porn'(someone no longer wanted sewing stash)and there were packs and packs of coloured cotton zippers in the most marvellous colours. I suggested a bright zesty yellow one but Zara plumped for the charcoal and I think she was right! xx N PS Thank you Mrs Zacker for all the goodies if you are reading!
A masterpiece! Once again you have raised the bar with O+S patterns. Love the zipper detail, the hair flower and oh, those shoes! Zara looks every bit a fashion model from a high end magazine.
Oh Deb,you are too kind! Thank you,I really enjoyed sewing this dress. It can be hard to let them grow up but I still feel a part of it by sewing for them. I will pass on your compliments,Zara will be thrilled! xx N
She is wonderful! I love this dress. I like the exposed zipper, the sleeveless version, the ribbon at the waist, the fabric choices and the yellow shoes. It is such a fun pattern to sew. Your daughter is really growing up!
She is so lovely! You did a super job Nicole! I hope that one day, when my girls are this age, that they will still come to me when they want a new dress. (Love the shoes too!...little apples don't fall far from the tree, huh!?)
Thank you Millie. We are lucky we have the opportunity and the weather for dressing up. It is fun to sew fancy dresses. I am sure your girls will want you to make their formal dresses. Yes,we Keller girls like our shoes! xx N
