The Fab Five often make cubby houses.
We have a stretch of scrub next to the playground and there is a string of flats in there.
Today Hugo was up at 6 am building this.
After lunch,he asked to take the ute out the back to collect some rocks.
Lidia went with him to help.
He explained that he would wrap the frame in chicken wire and drop rocks, clay, straw and cow-pats between the wire to create the walls.
They were gone for a couple of hours.
It will be designed as a bivouac with three walls and a woven stick ''door' to pull over the opening.
Matilda was convinced.
We shall have to wait and see!
Clever things!
ReplyDeleteI hope it works!
ReplyDeleteLids and Hugo were fast asleep by 8 pm this evening!

Brings back fond memories of making stuff when I was a kid. That last picture of Matilda is adorable with that big brimmed hat!
ReplyDeleteOur children are lucky Colette!
ReplyDeleteThe hat is an old school one of Hugo's,we have a basket of hats and beanies by the back door, along as they grab one,I don't mind which!
Thank you
