Not Blogging But Sewing

My attempts at arty titles always sound a bit wanky.
I have been sewing but with three weeks of poorly children blogging has not been high on my priority list

I have been making Tea Party dresses.

For Baby Victoria

For Missy A's 3rd birthday.

For Miss Matilda
And Bedtime Story pajamas.

For Lidia'

More for Lidia

A late Christmas gift for Missy A

Revamping one of Hugo's tops for Zara

Some last minute swim shorts for Zara.

And a special dress for a special friends little girl.
I made the dress from dupion silk and added a ruffle to the neck band.
Instead of a ruffle I styled an approximate of the Southern Cross,a star constellation that is featured on our Australian flag.
As the recipient sews the most beautiful clothing I determined to have the insides as pretty as the exterior.

Down to binding the sleeve seam with a scrap of Liberty.

What am I sewing now?
I will give you a clue...

  9. I hopel the poorly children are getting better and that you're minding yourself too! What beautiful sewing, and I love what you've done with the silk dress. I was admiring the randomness of the star buttons on the front until I read that they resemble your flag - it's such a wonderfully creative idea. I noticed the French seams and binding too ;-) they make such a neat finish - but I would say that wouldn't I!!
