This time a Metro tee by Liesl+Co.
Please excuse his black eye, it got prettier!

Hugo was after a more fitted tee.
I sewed him up the size XS and then fitted the side seams.
Just popped it on him, inside out.
We left the sleeves as they were.
A nice fit.
Slim enough to wear under a shirt.
The nitty gritty kitty.
A very nice tee.
Another excellent PDF from the makers of Oliver+S.
The pattern sheets fit together for each pattern piece, not a great big cumbersome sheet.
The tee has good body and sleeve length and it sews together nicely.
I used this method to sew the neck band, it is my go-to construction for a neat finish.
I used my coverstitch machine to finish the hems and sleeves.
I think we have a new mens basics pattern!

Looks great. That's exactly the kind of thing my hubby wears under a long sleeve polo in colder weather. I love that we can make good looking basics and not buy into the cheap, slave trade stuff. Well done.
ReplyDeleteExactly, that is what Hugo was after. I find the young fellows prefer a long tee, shirt and coat rather then a bulky jumper.
DeleteI don't love making tee's, but they do last longer the purchased ones and are at least, guilt free.
Thank you!

I love that you are sewing men's sized patterns for Hugo now Nicole - gives me lots of ideas for my big boys! This looks like a great basic and I do rather like your staple fitting technique!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many more nice mens patterns out there then I realised! Are you able to stock these, I know Cate (fabricate) uses them too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane.

Love it!! and just what Jane said - so tickled pink that you are trying out all of the bigger guy patterns, saving the work for those of us with boys growing up fast!
ReplyDeleteThank you Inder, I am so pleased to find these great patterns!
