The Jeans Affair

Have you heard of Bootstrap patterns?
They are similar to Lekala, very similar, they have many of the same patterns but with better instructions, evidently.
For Zara's next item on the #sewingrota I made her some custom fit Vado jeans.
I really enjoyed sewing these jeans. The instructions were excellent but I have made jeans before so I wasn't dependant on them.
I think the Ginger jeans would be more hand-helding.
That said, I love the very professional zip and front construction.

The written instructions come with step by step colour photographs but these were quite dark and hard to see.

Perhaps an intermediate sewing pattern, not that hard but it needed time and patience.
I sewed them up in some white denim using silver hardware.
I did fit these as I sewed but I made no modifications.
Seriously, the fit is almost spot on!
They may be just a tad firm across her hips but as we are coming into Netball season they won't be for long.
I love how well they fit her bottom.
We took the option of very curvy.
Dang, but they fit well!
How gorgeous is she?

The fit is amazing, I am totally blown away.
~Zara's Verdict~
These jeans are great.
The material is perfect, Mum found it for me.
 The fit is great.
Thank you Mum for spending your time making them. They are very flattering, especially considering the odd 5 kilos I put on during the Christmas holidays.

I am glad you like them Sweetheart.

    1. I am definitely trying them on my next turn Kate, they fly and centre front turns out exactly like the Witchery jeans (our fav jeans).
      Thank you!

    1. They are worth a look Jane.
The site is a bit clunky to use (but that could be our crappy internet)

I am glad she likes them, she did and then she didn't and now she does again...
They keep me on my toes.
      Thank you!

  3. Gorgeous! Both Zara & the jeans. Such a satisfying project. As Jane said - have seen Bootstrap popping up about the place. Nice to see a local example.

    1. They are certainly filling a gap for me when it comes to the Twins Renae. The instructions could be better but the patterns do fit together really well and there are a lot of video tutorial on you-tube for bits you need help with (that is how I did the welt pockets on Zara's Hoodie)
      Thank you!

  7. I want to make me a pair Kristin and the shirt too!
I wear jeans and a shirt everyday and I love to sew shirts. I just need to work out the bust dart, I am not sure which one I need...
    Thank you!

  8. Your sewing skills are fantastic - such beautiful finishes on everything. Sewing for your girls is giving me ideas as I have a 10 yr old girl (going on 21) who is tall for her age. Trying to find suitable clothing and/or patterns is trying so thanks for the ideas!

My girls (and Hugo) really challenge me, they joke that they are helping prevent me get dementia by keeping my brain active, they could have a point...

If I can be any help at all, please sing out.
Thank you for your lovely lovely comments.
