Holiday 2014 Day Five

This time I wasn't left out!
Next stop Erskine Falls
Magnificent trees that reach for the sky.
And then just keep going.
A extremely well designed National Park nestled in the hill side.
With stairs leading down......
To this.
Erskine Falls.
''It has inspired thousands of of bush lovers over the decades. Even the poet and novelist Rudyard Kipling wrote of buying a frond of fern “gathered where the Erskine leaps down the road to Lorne''

Absolutely breathtaking.

The romantic mist caressed and cooled you as you continued down.

There were plenty of seats to stop and catch the changing views, and your breath.

The deafening roar and the incredible force of the water is spectacular.

But then you have to get back up.....

I made it, just.

Next stop, Point Lonsdale and our next home.

  1. What a beautiful forest. It's so lush and green. There's even leaves on the trees and for you it's the middle of winter!

    1. Many of our trees don't lose their leaves Deb. Its quite a novelty to see the European trees with their beautiful jewelled leaves that change colour and fall.

    1. Thank you so much for reading along Sharon. I do enjoy our family holidays and it may be one of our last with Hugo growing up so fast!

  4. If I were pregnant I would have been sitting on that bench the whole time (I could never walk too far or stand too long when pregnant ~ too many fainting episodes).

I was getting quite cross at myself at not being able to keep up, I just got puffed!

    1. MC, I had no idea such beautiful places were so accessible to us. The climb was absolutely worth it but I do look forward to going back with baby in a back pack instead of on my belly.
