Vado Boyfriend Jeans

Now, don't get me wrong, I love my skinny jeans

But Boyfriend jeans are so cute!
So I decided to give the Vado Boyfriend jeans a go.
Very similar to Lekala patterns, you pop in your measurements and a pattern is created for you!
You can create an account and store your measurements on the site. That said, take the time to check them, I have obviously gained a few kilo's and my beautiful practice run are just too firm when I sit down.
Luckily, I don't think I will need to purchase another pattern, just add a few cm's to the front (where it is firm) but I am so disappointed.
That aside, they are gorgeous!
I sewed then up in some denim/wool, from Spotlight, leftover from Hugo's jeans, beautiful to sew but absolutely no stretch.
The shorts have a lovely high waist with good ease around the thigh.
The pockets are slightly smaller than the skinny jeans, obviously a design choice.
I topstitched them with navy, heavy weight thread for a dressier look.

I am hoping they will work on Zara as over sized Boyfriend shorts, maybe something a little dressier, with a nice linen shirt, for work placements?

Oh well, you win some... and you eat too much cheese.

Thank you for reading.

xx Nicole

  1. 😂I am also guilty of eating too much cheese. Denim wool sounds amazing!

    1. I love cheese, sigh.
Denim/wool is lovely, I have skinny jeans made from the stretch version and it is so thick and warm. This is a rigid denim but it washes soft with a very elegant fade pattern.
      Thank you.

    1. I hope you can get some Jane.
I wash it (rarely) in Wool wash and they soften up beautifully.
Hugo say's they have water repellency too.

I love cheese, sigh, you are right, someone will wear them but life is too short for tight trousers!
      Thank you!

    1. I love cheese but it's plain to see, that cheese, doesn't love me...
      (Apologies to Tim Minchin)

Thank you, it sucked as they were fine when I fitted the side seams, just the old wobbly tum,

  4. Oh no!! BUMMER! They are so beautifully made! I feel you on the wobbly tum, my clothes start out fitting in the morning and are too tight by night. Blech.

    1. I was so upset Inder.
They don't suit Zara and are way too big for Elsa. I have altered my jeans for Elsa but she said not to bother as she is not sure she would wear them.
I have put them away, who knows, when Trixie sleeps better I hopefully will get more active.
      Thank you!
