I know, I know... I ordered it too. Along with the Sandpiper set. It's just into summer here so I'll have a chance to try it out in a lighter weight linen first.
Ooooh Cindy, don't tempt me..... but you know I have a massive to do list! Definitely the shorts and maybe the matching top in wool? To wear "over''?
For once I am happy to be on the other side of the world icicle! I have the rest of winter to plan! Linen sounds lovely,I have several bits put to one side for that 'special' pattern,I think I may have found it!
Nicole, I saw these on another blog 'no big dill' and liked the look of them, though I didn't get around to ordering. It sounds like you have them styled in your head already, the tweed will be perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them.
The Twins were so excited to see them Angela and as they are so skinny, fingers crossed they will fit into them! I kept burning my fingers whilst ironing today, day dreaming! Thank you for your confidence in me! x N
I too saw these on 'No Big Dill' and loved the look of the shorts - a bit of a puppet show feel to them, I look forward to your 'review' of the patterns.
I thought Puppet Show too Karen, how I love those shorts! I am excited to sew them and will definitely let you chaps know what I think!
Ohhh, the wren dress,Catherine! I have a piece of blue, grey border print in mind for that! Imagine it,in white, sans belt,on a toddler......bliss! (with a big black velvet bow in hair of course)! X N
Nicole, You'll have no problems with the Finch shorts -- not a quick sew but so beautifully put together they are a pleasure to make. There are a few places where there are 4 layers (tabs) so I'd pick a thinner wool for that.
Here are mine in linen: Finch shorts I even hand sewed the cuffs; not my usual attention to detail :) I think you'll love this pattern.
I have heard those cute little Finch shorts have something like 24 pieces to sew together. Oh my. Yes, please let us know!
ReplyDeleteBut aren't they so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am considering camel tweed with b/w stripy tights, knee high boots and white blouse-ohhhh!
They may have to jump up the list icicle......
All or some? I'll wait to see what clever outfits you sew up before I commit.:)
