PJ's for Lidia

Lidia's hand-me-down pj's were looking a but worse for wear.
Pyjamas don't generally last more then one child.
I love the look of button up pjs best but I find once my guys hit around 12 they prefer flannelette bottoms with a knit tee.
I used two Oliver+S patterns.
The Field Trip tee and the Sleepover bottoms.
Liddy googled and found the stencil and cut it our herself.
I used Plaid stencil paint.
Both fabrics came from our Melbourne shopping trip.
A very stretchy cotton/lycra and fluffy flannelette.
The second set, with a slightly heavier cotton/lycra and some Spotters flannelette.
I used the separate waistband but left off the cuffs, adding some extra length to leg.
I found the cuff just flopped down and looked messy, even if I caught the side seams.
~Lidia's Verdict~
I absolutely  love these pyjamas because they are so comfortable and I love the pineapple stencil on the shirt.
The fabric is gorgeous and Mum is so clever to have made such a groovy pair of pjs.

  1. These PJs are super cute! I love how you stencilled the pineapple on. I've made PJ bottoms for myself in the past but never been quite satisfied due to the poor quality of flannelette (from Spotlight of course!).

  2. Siobhan, many years ago I purchased a big lot of Amy Butler flannelette, it was gorgeous, thick and fluffy. THOSE pjs are still being worn.
The stuff from Spotlight is thin and crappy, which makes me cross as it is also narrow and expensive.
(But they do have cute prints)
This stuff was only a few $ so I don't mind if only Liddy wears them.
    Thank you!

    1. Oh that is the truth! I always buy Spotlight flannels on sale and then almost always wish I hadn't bothered. Cute jammies btw

  4. Such cute nighties! It must have been fun for sweet Lydia to have such a hand in creating her own things. Are your girls interested in learning how to sew? Pajama bottoms would be a nice project for a beginner.

    1. Thank you Karen.
None of my girls enjoy sewing much, they dabble and have machines but are far more interested in sport and animals.

  5. Oops! I spelled Miss Lidia's name wrong. I'm sorry!

    1. Please don't worry, I often wish I hadn't used that spelling.

  6. I find making PJs and nighties so rewarding as they get worn over and over and never go out of favour - I guess that's why they don't last more than one kid!!

    1. You are right, they do love them too but I always seem to put them off. I have a chum that works full time and has a lot of commitments, the only thing she makes IS pjs for her children. They were homemade every night!
